Chinua Foundation holds Holiday Outreach for Special Mothers in Lagos, Ogun and Abuja

Raising Awareness

As part of our vision to create an inclusive society for children with special needs, Chinua Foundation organized a music challenge known as #SpecialKuchiChallange on social media( TikTok, IG).

The Challenge required mothers to use the Kuchi Kuchi (Special Version) sound and dance with their kids. From the videos submitted, a winner emerged with a gift price of 50,000 naira.

Special Kuchi Kuchi Challenge initiative was another way the foundation encouraged Special mothers to be proud of their children and not hide rare gems with great potential

A journey of hope for Emmanuel

We went to the hospital with a special mother and her son for consultation and the Dr. said "all the things" (and it was important for him to do the hard job of saying them) that would make a mother weep.

"His case is critical!"
"It's a 50-50 chance you'll loose him."
"His spine is pushing against his organs."
"Why did you let it deteriorate?"
"Don't expect much results."

...and much more 🙂

To the doctors left in the country are doing what they can. Thank you for helping out. 💐

But we can't give up on such pure souls. Look at him smiling even though a lot of times he cries from pain anytime his mum has to back him. This 6-year old smiles even when his breathing is difficult...
In spite of it all, he still smiles.

We asked the doctor,
"Now, what?"
"Where do we go from here?"

Doctor said, "He needs braces for his trunk to stop the Scoliosis from progressing. He needs many things, but this is the most urgent gadget".

Off to Orthopedics 🙂... we hurried there. We can't be too patient with these things, because the child can't do it for himself. I salute this boy's Special Mother for the courage.

It's a journey of hope for Emmanuel. It's a journey I'm willing to take with him and his family, because it can change his life forever and this makes my life meaningful
